With recent times, HTC mobile launches resembled something of the Apple iPhone launch. It was high on the pricing, but definitely low on the functionality. However, when it comes to product launches and its appropriate pricing, HTC has again faltered with the Desire 826.

There is not much to say about the mobile phone. It is more or less a decent enough mobile phone, that is powered by 1.5 GHz quad core and a 1.0 Ghz Quad Core, making it an Octa core processor. It also contains the 64-bit QUALCOMM snapdragon 615 processor, that is coupled with the Adreno 405 GPU and also sports a 2GB RAM. When it comes to the camera, it has a 13 megapixel camera in the rear, and also a 4 Ultra pixel camera in the front.

When it comes to specifications, this mobile phone is definitely the best that you will be able to find. However, the convenience of having a smart phone can definitely be marred with the HTC Desire 826 presenting a very solid picture. It lacks the oomph factor, which was previously to be found in various models of HTC desire. The display size is 5.5 inches, and contains a resolution of about 1080 X1920 pixels. It also contains android 5.0 lollipop version, which is the latest in the market. The battery capacity is a meager 2600 mAh. The main problem with the mobile phone is with the battery, which has no steady backup plan. Rather, with the introduction of various applications, it will suck the life out of the battery within no time.

Connectivity options are aplenty in the HTC Desire 826. You have 4G, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi along with all the typical connectivity features. The thickness is at a decent 7.5 MM, and the weight is also 155 g. So, if you are willing to get a mobile phone that can give you wonderful specifications beneath the hood, then going for this mobile phone can do justification to your purchase. If you have a fascination, and you are enamored with HTC, then this mobile phone will actually be the perfect fan boy gift that you can find from the company. However, there are a few disqualifications that could actually render this particular mobile phone to be categorized much lower than its compatriots.

Firstly, you have an individual outset, which means that they require superior quality of battery backup in order to play games or conduct your multitasking activities. The battery is nowhere near to what you might expect from a mobile phone in this price range.

Secondly, when you are travelling, you will witness most of the applications not working due to connectivity issues. This is a problem that has been shown to HTC, and they are providing a fix for this problem. However, at the time of writing this article, there is no news about the release of that update.

Thirdly, the pricing is a concern. For a cost of $400+, you could go for some other mobile phone that contains much better battery backup and specifications. There is no need for you to put up with the problems that are already imprinted by HTC in this mobile phone.

Final Verdict

So, the verdict is out. If you need a mobile phone that is truly a smart phone, and you go by specifications alone, then the HTC Desire 826 is the purchase that you are looking out for. However, if you value battery backup, as well as the longevity of your mobile phone, then give other companies a try.
