The BBC Player is quite flexible in the following ways:

  • You can download and stream the HD programs on your computer
  • You can even access these programs from your mobile device

At the same time, there are certain restrictions that this program has imposed. The programs that are downloaded from the BBC player will not be compatible with other media players. The program will be automatically deleted from your computer after 30 days of download. The iPlayer programs can be watched for up to 7 days since the first time you watched it. The reason for this is because as per regulations, these programs are protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management).

Luckily, there is a way to remove this DRM protection from the iPlayer and make them available permanently without any restrictions. You can also transfer these media files to your music devices such as iPod, PSP, Zen, Walkman etc and watch them later. You can also burn them to a DVD and make it more portable to use. All these are possible using iPlayer ripper software.

  1. Thanks for the article. For those who live outside UK and want to access BBC iPlayer, you can use UnoTelly as I do to get around the geo block.

  2. I’m sure your software is really brilliant, but a one minute free trail probably didn’t do it credit.

    • It is not my software but I can explain it. The idea of trial version is just to make sure that this iPlayer DRM removal works for your case before you purchase it to get a full version.

  3. Hi,

I cannot get this to work. The page you show in the details of Step 1 don’t fit the image I see when i click onto the app. I might be doing something basic incorrectly. I’m using a Mac and the page just brings up all my iTunes things, without providing options to add others. Can you help please?

    • Hi,
Sorry that this software doesn’t work for your Mac computer. However, there is another way to remove DRM restriction. Here is how:
Just open Apple QuickTime Player in your Applications folder. Select “New Screen Recording” from the File menu. You will see a screen recording window, like so:

click the record button(the red triangle). You can either to record part of the screen or the entire screen. Once you do that, click to start recording. Click the stop button that appears in the menu bar to stop recording.
